The Woodworking Shows: Atlanta 2008Well, it's Sunday night and we're just getting back from the 2008 Woodworking Show in Atlanta, GA. What a whirl wind of a trip. As I talked about in my last blog post the good folks who run The Woodworking Shows let us have free reign through out the show and we got a lot of video of some great products from manufacturers. Give me a few days to edit the film and I'll have it all up. But until then, here's a taste of what's to come. The Jool Tool: An incredible metal sharpening tool that can put a bur on a tool faster than you can say, 'what's a Jool?' Carter Products: Ever got your bandsaw blade pitched in a tight radius turn and took the set off the teeth or popped it off the tires? Carter Products has a guide system that allows incredibly tight turns even with a 1/4 inch blade. Lie-Nielsen Toolworks: Lie-Nielsen has been at the designing board again and has came out with some new tools that will knock your socks off. Bad Dog Tools: Wait until you see what you can do with their Rover Bits Laguna Tools: Known for their bandsaws, we'll show you some new tools that Laguna has came out with that will change your mind. Porter Cable/Delta: Porter Cable has updated their Omni dovetail jig with some great new features that will make cutting dovetails much easier with fewer mistakes. We even got a chance to sit down with Jim Heavey from Wood Magazine to talk about his role with the magazine and why they are so committed to education. All these and much more, so stay tuned, I'll have them up in a few days. Now, it's time for about 12 hours sleep. (Yeah, that's not going to happen, but I can dream can't I?) -Craig |
