String Art

We've all seen string art that somebody else has done and, if you're like me, wonder how in the world they did that? String Art usually refers to an arrangement of strings that forms geometric patterns or patterns that resemble an object, such as a star. The string may be wound around a grid of nails that are hammered into a wooden board.

Take a 3/4" x 6" x 6" piece of wood. Now we need a pattern to go by in order to create our design. I found a great website at: http://www.mathcats.com/crafts/stringart.html They give you printable designs that you can simply lay out on your piece of wood and hammer nails into the corresponding holes. They even tell you how to wrap the string around which nail to get different designs. It's really easy. They've done all the head scratching for you. Check it out!
