Episode 2 Part 2: The Shop Tour

Robert Schoenert:

I noticed that your miter saw isn't in the middle of the length of cabinet that it sits on. Why?

I just found your site and I'm glad I did. Good job!

Robert

(WR) Craig:

Hey Robert,

Thanks for your question and for the kind words about the site.

I purposely put my miter saw closer to the right hand side of my cabinets so that I could get a full 8' to the left of the blade. This is so I can cut longer pieces of molding and still use my fence system. Also, I have room to hang a much longer board off the left side of the cabinets. The right side is butted up next to a wall, so I can't go past 4'. It's somewhat of a compromise, but for most circumstances it works well for me.

Thanks for checking our site out, I hope you enjoy it!

Craig
